About Think Big!
The Santa Cruz County Office of Education and Santa Cruz Works have partnered to provide Santa Cruz County educators and students the opportunity to participate in a series of exciting events that revolve around connecting your passions with the possibilities of the technology industry. These events are aimed at inspiring individuals to Think Big! when reaching for your dreams. We encourage everyone looking to expand their awareness of the possibilities that exist in Santa Cruz County by joining these events.
The Code
Presenter - Shaun Tomson
Shaun Tomson is a world renowned champion surfer, environmentalist, best selling author, entrepreneur and developer of “The Code”.
Event Details
During this two hour FREE event, Shaun will use the first 90 minutes to walk participants through his Code Method program. This introspective process will encourage students (grades 6-12) and educators to explore their passion and purpose in life. Participants will have the opportunity to practice the method and develop their individual own set of 12 “I will” statements. During the last 30 minutes of the event, dynamic local Santa Cruz technology leaders will join in and share how their passions guided them into their successful career and why reflection on how establishing your personal purpose is essential to your own journey.
All individuals will have the opportunity to contribute and share examples of their “I will” statement on our COE interactive Think Big! Padlet! In addition, early registered participants will receive a FREE copy of Shaun Tomson’s book, The Code*.
