Overview of Courses
Are you new to the Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) and have never considered it as a career? Are you interested in Computer Networking and Cyber Security? Have you thought about taking a course, but not sure where to start?
In an effort to better prepare students for future careers in specific sectors, the Santa Cruz County Office of Education, in partnership with Scotts Valley Unified School District , Santa Cruz City Schools, San Lorenzo Valley School District and Cabrillo College, is proud to support and promote courses under the California Career Technical Education Program . By participating in career pathway courses, students can focus on areas of personal interest, build skills, and potentially develop a passion in the special area. Starting the 2021 - 2022 school year, students will have the opportunity to take Career Technical Networking courses and earn college credit through our (ICT) Networking Career Pathway with Cabrillo College!
Over the next two years, our team will be working with Cabrillo College, industry partners, and community members to develop an exciting new Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) Network Career Pathway focused on building strong 21st century skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration as well as providing mentorships and job shadowing programs with industry companies. With our mission to promote and provide access to equitable, accessible, and dynamic curriculum throughout Santa Cruz Country and the growing opportunities revolving around Networking and Cyber Security, we are very excited to provide this opportunity.
